Today’s Bible challenge will give you the chance to show your gift for memorizing scripture. If you know where the passages below are found, share with all of our readers. The verses will be familiar, but do you know what book of the Bible they are in?
1- In the Baptist church, and others, you have heard pastors quote from scripture when baptizing new believers. The passage is similar to the statement below. Do you know where this is found in the Bible?Bonus points if you can share the meaning of the verse in context.
“Buried with Christ in death, rise to walk in newness of life.”
2- Below is a verse often used when telling lost people about Jesus. This small New Testament book is filled with passages that help us know that we are truly walking with Christ. Bonus points if you can name at least four passages from this book that verify our faith.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
3- The last challenge is from a passage that many believers take out of context. Many people believe that Jesus was using this verse to invite unbelievers to be saved. That is a wrong conclusion. Bonus points if you can not only cite the scripture referenced, but also if you know who Jesus was directing this plea to.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
