Revelation 3:17 …you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. CSB1

Do you believe the verse above is about needy or lowly people? You know what I mean. The people we judge as being from the other side of the tracks. People from that family, or with that job, or with that income.
Do you believe the verse above is about the poor and unwanted?
No. It is not. And if anyone looks at others in that way, then you may have a problem that is more serious than you are prepared to admit.
Actually, those so-called deplorable people are described, many times, in this way, “So the last will be first, and the first last.” Matthew 20:16″
Our key verse, Revelation 3:17, is talking about pretend Christians, and they are usually concerned with pursuing wealth and status, or dream of having the treasure offered by the world.
Often, they seem religious and many practice a lifestyle of hypocrisy and judgment. Sadly, many of them are truly lost.

So here is today’s challenge. It’s not an easy topic. But it is a loving topic from the God who wants everyone to be saved. Answers can be found by clicking the links.

From a Bible study transcript by Joy Lee.
“Lukewarm is the only one of those words found. The implication is that if one is lukewarm, they may never have truly given their heart to Christ.
Uncommitted believers are prevalent in the Church today. Those are believers who do not read their Bible on a regular basis, have a devoted prayer life, do not share in fellowship with other believers, do not obey the Lord’s command to share the Gospel and who live in habitual sin. If the Holy Spirit lives in your heart, He will not allow you to live that way forever. He will allow trials to get your attention. This is a merciful act of God’s kindness to bring you to repentance. But lukewarm Christian is never mentioned in the Bible” ↩︎
