Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Leave the little children alone, and don’t try to keep them from coming to me, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” CSB
This Bible Q & A is a bit different.
Seed Basket Devotional has opened the door to invite curious kids to ask questions of God. The response has been incredible. I have asked children to imagine that they are visiting with God and can see Him. Then I asked them to present God with any question that causes them to wonder.
You would be amazed at some of the questions that these bright, thoughtful kids came up with.
Bible Q & A will be devoted to kids questions every remaining Thursday in September. Answers come straight from God’s Word. For questions that remain God’s mystery, we will wait for Him to reveal those answers.
Moms and dads, get ready to open the Bible. These kids have great insights!
Today’s questions came from Autumn and Dec.
Dec, age 6 3/4 (Dec would want us to count all of his months)
“Why is space so cold?”

That’s a great question! One of the ways that we know God is real is because of His creation. God created space. By reading Genesis 1-3 we can learn about all that God made. Not only that, but we also know that Jesus (Colossians 1:15-16) and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2)were there taking part in creation, with God.
But to answer your question, God also created science, and He created man. He gave some people very smart brains to learn all about the science of space and temperature. There is a cool web site for kids called Answers in Genesis1. This would be a great site for you and your parents to look at together to learn about God’s creation.
There is also a great book that was written more than forty years ago, called Men of Science, Men of God by Henry M. Morris2, a scientist who believed in God.
Actually, one of the scientists, William Thompson, Lord Kelvin,3 who is mentioned in Dr. Morris’ book is known for the Kelvin Scale and developed the Second Law of Thermodynamics. He could have answered your question about temperature in space. But he also would have told you about the love of God.
One day you may discover that you want to be a Christian who studies science. He can teach you about His creation. Get mom or dad to read the story of creation to you. One day we will know all the mysteries of God’s great creation.
One of the reasons God gave us His creation is because He loves us and wants us to enjoy it with Him. Another reason is because He loves the beauty of His creation. But the most important reason is that He wants you and I to love Him. His creation helps us believe in Him. Romans 1:20
The Bible has information about stars like Pleiades and Orion, and the planets, the sea monster Leviathan, oceans, the sky, the rainbow, babies, mountains, animals and so much more. Other books in the Bible that talk about creation include Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Genesis, Revelation and more.

Job 9:9-10 He makes the stars: the Bear, Orion,
the Pleiades, and the constellations of the southern sky.
He does great and unsearchable things,
wonders without number.
Autumn, age 13
“If You could describe me in one word what would it be?”

Autumn, this is a question that God must truly love. For one thing, it comes from a pure and hope-filled heart. You see, I don’t think you would ask that if you felt that your heart was not right with God.
So, I do want you to be sure that your heart is right with God. It is not for me or any other person to convince you of your relationship with God.

Now for your question. The best place to look for that answer is in His precious, trustworthy Word.
I think God would use more than one word to describe how He sees you. I truly think it’s just the way God loves. He demonstrates what you mean to Him. But He did give us His Word.
So, if you read all of the scriptures that I did, you will see that in every single verse, one word describes how you look in God’s eyes. So, I am going to hush.
Enjoy reading each of these verses. Especially look for that one special word in each passage. These are God’s love messages to you.
Psalm 139:16 KJV

Exodus 19:5 KJV Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
TREASURE (This passage, in context, was first for the Jews. Because we are under the new covenant, adopted daughters and sons, it applies to us, too) see Eph. 3:4-6. (Also, Genesis 10, 12 & Isaiah 42:6 tell us that God placed Israel in the center of the Gentiles as a witness of His Glory and His saving grace for the Gentiles, too.)
Colossians 3:10 KJV
THE IMAGE OF JESUS (more than one word, but the best description)
Autumn, there are so many lovely descriptions in the Bible that God has for us. But the best of every description is this:
John 3:16
For God so loved Autumn, that He gave His only Son, Jesus,
that if Autumn would simply believe in Him,
Autumn would not perish but have everlasting life.
LOVED by God. That is what will give your life meaning. Knowing that when the Creator of the universe looks at you, He loves you.
He wanted you even though He knew you would make mistakes and even sin on purpose. He loved you even though it cost Jesus everything.
That Love gives meaning to your life.
You don’t need to get skinny, pretty, rich, famous or smart. Just be the beautiful Autumn that He created.
Look for His footprints every day. Go where He leads. Don’t wait for the future to get here. Live for Him today.
Love Him humbly but out loud and with courage. Thank Him no matter what hardships are part of your life. Never forget to thank Him on the really great days, too. And more than anything, have fun enjoying this gift of life, in honor of Jesus.
Stop and think of a hard thing that you have faced in life.
He was there the whole time.
