“I Hurt!”
Psalm 23:4 “…I will fear no evil…You are with me.” WEB1
Chronic headaches, endless insomnia leading to depression, the death of a baby, the death of a second child.
What would you or I say to God?
Many people would rail at Him in anger. Some would ask, “Why?” Others would quit talking and give up.
But others, like Elizabeth Payton Prentiss, shine brighter to glorify God, even though she also said, “I hurt.”

And in her relentless pain and loss she wrote this.
More Love to Thee O Christ
More love to Thee.
This is the prayer I make
On bended knee.
This all my prayer shall be
More love, O Christ, to Thee
More love to Thee
More love to Thee!
How could she pen those words?
Because she knew this, Truth.
1 John 4:9-10 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. CSB2
