Psalm 119:32 I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free.

In this section of Psalm 119, I was quickly drawn to our key verse. The reason is because after too many years of living life my own way, I finally learned the meaning of the freedom found in Jesus.
Freedom is submitting your heart and whole life to Jesus, not just for salvation.
Freedom means trusting the Savior with everything, large and small. It allows us to face sorrows, disappointments, and grief with the faith that God is in control, even when we don’t see or understand it.
Freedom is giving IT up, whatever that means to you.
Freedom! The one thing that everyone is clamoring for, but in the wrong way.
If we cling to things for security, the more elusive our search for peace of mind becomes. The more we grasp at things in this world, the less we will feel content.
Another scripture that comes to mind is this.
If you know the truth the Truth will set you free, indeed. John 8:32 (CSB)
What is Jesus talking about in this passage?
Simply, this. If you know and keep the Truth of God’s Word, then you will be set free from the captivity of sin. That is what our key verse means.
I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free.
There is no material possession, no human relationship, nor the perfect health that could be worth more than the joy of walking in the freedom that Jesus gives.
I hope that you will not only read all of Psalm 119:25-32, but also, go back to John 8.
Look at all of the people in this single chapter in John’s Gospel. See how the Master set them all free?
Their stories reveal the Savior’s magnificent love. God stood at the open door of their cage, which wasn’t locked. He invited them to leave and find freedom in Him.

Just step out of the cage like they did; you can do it with God’s grace.
Jesus spoke to them again:
“I am the light of the world.
Anyone who follows me
will never walk in the darkness
but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
