Teach me your decrees, O Lord; I will keep them to the end.
Psalm 119:40

Walking in step with Jesus means putting God’s Word into your whole heart. By relying on it, the wisdom of keeping God’s law becomes clear. Then you will find peace even when life gets confusing and chaotic.
In our busy lives, it can be hard to stay committed. We should accept the Holy Spirit’s help and read God’s Word and pray. This can become as natural as taking our next breath.
His gentle voice urges us to turn from sinful choices. He calls us to be drawn close to Him.
We won’t be perfect in life. Don’t lose hope. King David failed many times, but he loved God’s commands and knew God’s Word. You can, too!
This section of Psalm 119 provides practical pointers for living a life fully devoted to the Lord, who has given us everything.
Teach me your decrees, O Lord.
I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions.
I will put them into practice with all my heart.
Make me walk along the path of your commands,
for that is where my happiness is found.
Give me an eagerness for your laws
rather than a love for money!
Turn my eyes from worthless things,
and give me life through your word.
Reassure me of your promise,
made to those who fear you.
Help me abandon my shameful ways;
for your regulations are good.
I long to obey your commandments!
Renew my life with your goodness.

They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
