Psalm 47:8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. CSB
Many believers are wringing their hands in great fear over the outcome of the election today. Please don’t do that. God loves you. He made a way for us to be saved and to have peace with Himself.

No matter which candidate wins, the fate of believers will not have slipped from God’s grasp.
Read about King David, King Josiah, and King Ahab. Two of them were faithful kings. They were sinful men but honored God and humbled themselves to do His will, more than many others. God was with them, even in the face of death.

Ahab was wicked and did not honor God. When 32 pagan kings threatened Israel, the scared king witnessed God’s victory. Twice. But Ahab never turned to God. He was a lost man who benefited from God’s protection of Israel, but never surrendered his heart.
Even though the evil Syrian king, Ben Hadad, mistakenly thought God was only a god of the hills and not the valleys, he soon learned the truth. Nevertheless, he continued in his disbelief and planned a second attack on Israel.
1 Kings 20:28 the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. KJV
But God’s people still have His promise. God’s people still live in Israel. And in the last days many of them will turn back to their Redeemer, and Israel’s final King of Judah, Jesus, will sit on the throne and judge the nations.

So, what do we do? I would say, don’t breathe a sigh of relief just because your candidate wins. Breathe a prayer of praise and belief that our God is in control. Sinful presidents live and work to fulfill God’s plan.
Even if the best president leads our nation, they are still just a human being. They cannot stop what God allows or change God’s plan.
If your presidential candidate doesn’t win, don’t be overwhelmed with anxiety. If you believe, be thankful to God for His plan and for your salvation. Resolve to live each day serving Him with courage and conviction.
If you still have not accepted God’s free Gift of salvation, let me urge you to do so. There are resources for help below.
There is no time to be sidelined by fear. Although we cannot coerce lost people to be saved, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus in this hurting world.
Do what you can to show God’s love and always forgive those who have harmed you. Be an encourager and a prayer warrior to the household of faith. Be faithful in reading God’s Word. Pray. Go to church. Fellowship with other believers. Draw close to God.
Do not disrespect any authority that God establishes in government. The Bible warns us. Our rebellion and complaining is sin against God.
Be thankful for every moment that you have left to serve our King, the only Ruler of the world. He’s coming back!
Will He find you faithful or fearful?
Here are some passages to get you through the next days and weeks.
Though the context of these passages are directly to Israel, they can be a reminder of His mighty power and love for us today.
God’s will for this world, not just America, is sovereign. America will rise and fall at God’s command. Instead of fearing for America, care about all nations. And let’s be certain of our own salvation and carry the Good News to our world.
Trust in God, not mere men.
Psalm 20:7-9 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen but we are risen and stand upright. Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call. KJV
I am the Lord.
There is no other God.
I have equipped you for battle,
though you don’t even know me,
so, all the world from east to west
will know there is no other God.
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I create the light and make the darkness.
I send good times and bad times.
I, the Lord, am the one who does these things.
