Here is the link to last week’s study in Revelation. “Soon”
Look, he is coming with the clouds,
and every eye will see him,
even those who pierced him.
And all the tribes of the earth
will mourn over him.
So, it is to be. Amen. Revelation 1:7 CSB
The Book of Revelation Chapter One
A study guide for verses 2-8
The Seven Churches.
Revelation 1:4 John, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne. CSB
What are the seven churches in Asia? Revelation 2-3
Who are the seven Spirits who are before God’s throne? Revelation 4:5 CSB and Isaiah 11:2 CSB
The Faithful Witness.
Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood— CSB
This passage accurately describes the life and purpose of Christ, the Holy Priest whose one-time sacrifice redeemed many. It shows that Jesus is worthy to lead His people and the Church, as mentioned in the book of Revelation regarding His kingdom.
This verse describes the benefits of his love toward us and washing us with his blood.
The verse also describes Jesus’ eternal glory and power, which we should always revere and remember with humility.
You and I are Priests with Jesus as our High Priest.
Revelation 1:6 “and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” CSB
Exodus19:6; (WEB) Isaiah 61:6 (WEB)
This means that we have the privilege of going to God through Jesus and the Spirit that lives in us, with everything.
This also means that we have the responsibility of offering sacrifices of praise. Just think. We have the easy and blessed part. We can joyfully bring honor and glory to God. Our sacrifice is not our punishment for sin. Jesus was our substitute, once and for all.
He is coming back and He’s bringing us with Him. (Think about that. The rapture and the second coming are not the same thing.).
Revelation 1:7 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. So, it is to be. Amen.
Can you answer these questions based on verse 7?
What is the difference between the rapture of the Church and the Second Coming of Christ?
Who are those “who pierced Him?
“Why will every tribe on earth mourn?
The Rapture of the Church is not when Jesus will touch His foot down on the Earth again. It is when He will call believer’s Home and before the beginning of the Great Tribulation.
The Second Coming is when Jesus will actually come back to rule and reign on the Earth. He will come with those believers whom He raptured. No corner of Earth will miss this return. Every eye will see Him and they will recognize Him for Who He is, even the lost.
Those who pierce Him is everyone. It is referring to sinners responsible for His crucifixion.
There is a point during the tribulation that every man on Earth will recognize Jesus is Who He said is He is. Some will repent and mourn unto repentance. Some will mourn who will continue reject Him. The mourning of these people will be due to great terror in their recognition of Who He is, but they will remain steadfast in their rejection of Him.
God, Savior, Redeemer, Spirit and Friend -with me and with you.
Revelation 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, ” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Who is the Alpha and Omega? God? Jesus? Revelation 21:6 John 1:1
Is the role of Jesus seen in the Book of Genesis from the very beginning? Genesis 1:26 (note the word “us” in this passage and compare this passage to John 1)
What about the Holy Spirit? Genesis 1:2
I hope you will do your own study of the book of Revelation. You will be so blessed by what you learn about our God.
