It is time for the Lord to act, for they have violated your instruction.
Psalm 119:126 (CSB)
Our opening verse is focusing on wicked people. But do you know who the wicked people are?
The Bible tells us that wicked people reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It’s that simple.
The wicked create darkness and confusion in the world. But should we focus on that?
No.
God’s timing for addressing darkness is always perfect. God has always had a remedy. You know that, if you believe.
Let’s see what we should focus on instead.
When we view these verses with human clarity, we see the Psalmist as proud and harsh. Our quick judgments often misunderstand this text inspired by God.
I want to focus on Jesus and the Spirit of God living in me, and I hope you feel the same.
Let’s learn more about these passages, together.
I have done what is just and right;
do not leave me to my oppressors.
Guarantee your servant’s well-being.
do not let the arrogant oppress me.
My eyes grow weary looking for your salvation
and for your righteous promise.
Psalm 119:121-123 (WEB)
Do you remember another passage when reading those three verses?
Micah 6:8
If we are truly walking with God and if we are committed to our faith, we can ask Him to protect us from earthly oppression.
However, if we keep God at a distance, we really can’t make such requests of our Savior, right? That is an abuse of His grace.
We should encourage one another without judging or condemning, because we have all fallen short of God’s glory.
Look at the verses below. Do you see the commitment of the Psalmist?
This should be the commitment and prayer of every true believer.
Deal with your servant based on your faithful love.
Teach me your statutes.
I am your servant; give me understanding
so that I may know your decrees.
Since I love your commands
more than gold, even the purest gold,
I carefully follow all your precepts
and hate every false way.
