Seed Basket’s look at the Beatitudes continues with “Pure in Heart”.
How could anyone claim to be pure?
Even though little babies and young children have not sinned, they were each born with a sin nature in their tiny little hearts.
One man (Adam) disobeyed God, and many became sinners. But in the same way, one man (Jesus) obeyed God, and many will be made right. Romans 5:19 (WEB)

Our Savior’s blood and sacrifice made us clean, taking our filth and making us white as snow. There was nothing we could do to merit this.
The Lord says…. Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18 (WEB)
And we still sin.
Jesus prunes us as lovingly as one who tends a lovely rose garden. Each diseased leaf is cut away. Petals, brown and lifeless, plucked away.

When we walk with Him, we will see God as He is: pure, holy, good, kind, and full of power and grace.
With everything that is in us, we want to honor God with pure living.
Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.” Matthew 22:37 This is our daily reminder of God’s authority in our lives.
