The Beatitudes conclude on Seed Basket Devotional.
“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.”
Matthew 5: 10 (CSB)
For centuries, people who love Jesus have courageously and intentionally endured persecution because of Him.
Not one wanted to suffer, but each endured for their deep love for the Savior who redeemed them.
Shine for the Light of the World

Here in America and in most of the free world the worst persecution we face is disdain. Rarely is anyone physically harmed for their faith.
But I wonder, if we ever faced real threat to our lives or our freedom, could we endure?
Every born again believer should actively know how to respond to persecution for the sake of the Gospel. Here’s how.
- Know where you stand with Christ.
- Regularly examine your heart to be ready for persecution, from mockery to physical harm.
- Pray daily for the persecuted Church.
- Know God’s Word.
- Help the Church in practical ways.
- Pray for persecuted believers.
- Serve wherever God leads.
- Share the Gospel fearlessly.
- Endure.
- Pray to be prepared to honor Christ at all times.
- Honor him in security, health and prosperity.
- Honor him in sorrow and suffering.
- Shine fearlessly; one day we will account for what we did not do for the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“…taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth.”

“You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me. Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
