Here is a link to last week’s series, Soon!
Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ;
and He will reign forever and ever.”
Revelation 11:15 (NASB)
As we begin the Revelation study today, we open with the announcement of the third woe. And with that the power and authority of our Lord, Christ is lifted high. All believers should read this out loud in honor of our Savior who has already overcome the powers of Hell and death.
So, let’s get started.
As you recall last week, the scene moves from Heaven back to Earth. Well, today the seventh trumpet sounds and the scene moves back to Heaven.
The twenty-four elders are in perpetual worship of God and of Christ Jesus. The next passage describes with graphic imagery what we can only imagine for the time being.
And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying,
“We give You thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the One who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.
With all of the destruction and God’s holy wrath on the rebellious unbelievers, you would think that they would fall on their faces to worship and receive God’s redemptive grace. But look at them. The next passage begins by describing them as enraged! They refuse to repent.
And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged,
and the time to reward Your bondservants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
Then look once again as we see the Lord God’s temple and the ark of the covenant appeared there, too. All of this to remind His people of the He is faithful and true. Not a single promise has failed to be kept.
And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder, and an earthquake, and a great hailstorm.
Revelation 11:1-19 (NASB)
I hope that everyone who reads these scriptures will be determined more than ever to live for Jesus in a way that you never have before.
Find a way to serve the Lord each day. Share the Gospel in your world!
