“…and who is my neighbor?”
Luke 10:29 (WEB)
Many believers know the story of the Good Samaritan in the Gospel of Luke. But do you know what led up to the parable?
This story starts with a lawyer testing Jesus about the Mosaic Law.
Although lacking in sincerity, the question he asked was the right one to ask.

“What must I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesus disarms him by asking the man, “What is written in the law?” he asked him. “How do you read it?”
He answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,” and “your neighbor as yourself.”
“You’ve answered correctly“ he told him. “Do this and you will live.”
But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
Luke 25-29 (CSB)
Then Jesus told the parable. Luke 10:30-37
Jesus wanted the Pharisee to see the Gospel. But he was too full of arrogance and religion.
Redeemed children of God love with the law of God’s love.
We can never justify ourselves before God.
The last thing Jesus said:
“Go and do the same.”
Share the Gospel in your world.
