Grace and peace be given to you more and more.
You will have grace and peace because you truly know God and Jesus our Lord.
2 Peter 1:2

Peter’s heart is truly revealed in this passage. He wanted all believers to understand that only in knowing Jesus, our Lord, more deeply would we come to understand the peace that God’s grace has provided to us.
We could never earn it.
This wonderful knowledge does not happen all of a sudden, but rather through a commitment to our relationship with God.
This is no salvation of works. But what we do with grace and peace is a choice.
Jesus has the power of God. His power has given us everything we need to live and to serve God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus called us by his glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3 (ICB)

The believers’ faith is our acknowledgment of God and the Lord Jesus.
Jesus reveals Himself to believers in the Gospel through His power. He provides what we need to know Him and for eternal life.
His holiness establishes the character qualities we should strive for. Those are His own qualities. We can pursue these attributes because He has given us the strength to obey God’s moral law.
However, each believer must decide to live according to these truths. We can live in apathy and disregard our Savior, or we can have a deeply meaningful relationship with God, knowing Him more deeply each day.
Share the Gospel in your world!
