It’s back to school time in the U.S. and here in Central Louisiana. Most local schools will resume for the 2025-2026 school year beginning tomorrow, August 11.
I’m not sure what the back-to-school schedule looks like across the rest of the nation or for the rest of the world.
I have readers from many different countries. So, you are added to this simple request for prayer.
Unfortunately, in our nation, politicians and unhappy people won the right to move God as far as possible from our children’s school day.
But that’s okay. They can’t really remove God. He lives in believing hearts. He is everywhere.
God’s love and grace is stronger than the will and machinations of lost people.

And that brings me to something that crossed my mind in church today.
Our pastoral staff had a specific prayer time for all sorts of people who are included in back-to-school activities. What a great thing to do!
Instead of complaining about the failure of the school system, teacher salaries, or the shortcomings of teachers, students and parents, let’s just lift them to the Lord – like incense.
…Also, they were holding golden bowls full of incense. These bowls of incense are the prayers of God’s holy people…Revelation 5:8

So, getting to the different sort of prayer. There are very young children that I know of who have a heart for God. They come from all walks of life. But in a unique way, these young kids know how to share their faith. They do it without shame.
They just know Jesus. They love Him. They want other people to know just what they know about the Savior of the world.
Those little ones need our prayers. These days it takes courage to be the one who stands up for such convictions.
These kids have been known to not only tell other students about Jesus, but some even muster the courage to share with teachers who need the encouragement of Christ.

So, pray for every child, teacher going back to school. Pray for moms and dads and other people involved in helping these young children walk through the school day.
But also, commit to pray for believing children who obey the command of Jesus:
So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything that I have told you. You can be sure that I will be with you always. I will continue with you until the end of the world.”
