Happy Thanksgiving to every Seed Basket Devotional Reader!
Thanksgiving Day in America is once a year and I fully intend to celebrate and be thankful for all that it means to me and my family.
But I want to include believers who follow Seed Basket Devotional from around the world on this special day in thanking God for everything He has done for all of us, not just for blessings He has given to America.
God deserves our praise because of Who He is. Not just for the kindness and grace that He has given to any person or nation. He is good and holy. He is a changeless, mighty, covenant keeping God. And I just want to thank Him and praise Him for all that He means to me on this day.
I hope that you will join me.
For today, I have gathered several passages from God’s Word. They are expressions of thanks to God from heroes of the faith, beginning with His own precious Son.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you listened to me.“
John 11:41

Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord.
Luke 1:46

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back,
glorifying God with a loud voice.
He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet,
giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.
Luke 17:15 &16

When Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house
now his windows were open in his room toward Jerusalem
and he kneeled on his knees three times a day, and prayed,
and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.
Daniel 6:10

… then then Simeon received Jesus
into his arms and blessed God,
Luke 2:27 &28

“Blessed be Yahweh, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised.
There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.
1 Kings 8:56

Coming up at that very hour, Anna gave thanks to the Lord and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.
Luke 2:38

David said, “… I will celebrate before Yahweh.
I will be yet more undignified than this

2 Samuel 6:21 &22

To God our Savior,
who alone is wise,
be glory and majesty,
dominion and power,
both now and forever. Amen.
Jude 1:25

“Yes, at this my heart trembles,
and is moved out of its place.
Hear, oh, hear the noise of his voice,
the sound that goes out of his mouth.
He sends it out under the whole sky,
and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
After it a voice roars.
He thunders with the voice of his majesty.
He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.
God thunders marvelously with his voice.
He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.
For he says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
likewise, to the shower of rain,
and to the showers of his mighty rain.
He seals up the hand of every man,
that all men whom he has made may know it.
Then the animals take cover,
and remain in their dens. Out of its room comes the storm,
and cold out of the north.
By the breath of God, ice is given,
and the width of the waters is frozen.
Yes, he loads the thick cloud with moisture.
He spreads abroad the cloud of his lightning.
It is turned around by his guidance,
that they may do whatever he commands them
on the surface of the habitable world,
whether it is for correction, or for his land,
or for loving kindness, that he causes it to come.
Job 37:1-13
