Here is a link to yesterday’s series, Three Little Letter’s.
Beloved, let’s love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 John 4:7 (WEB)
For those who are following the series, Three Little Letters, I wonder how many of you followed through and read the rest of Chapter Four?
I hope that each of you will do that soon, because it will have an impact on this post.
You see, yesterday’s post was necessary, because it is in God’s Word. It is a very serious topic. It is sad and it is true. For those who have not read it, the link is above.
But John’s little letters are inspired by hope- the hope of the Spirit of God. That’s why I hope you will finish reading 1 John 4:7-21.
There are many lost people around the world who need to know the Savior. But a very real tragedy are the people that John’s little letter described in yesterday’s study.
Believers are called to love, pray for, and bring God’s light to all unbelievers, guided by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.
However, we are never to join them in their sin, and we are to safeguard the Church from the division that some may cause.
Those people are who John was talking about in His letter in chapter four.
But not every unbeliever is setting out to harm the Church. They are simply rejecting Christ.
We are called to love. One of the proofs of our own salvation is the love of Christ living in us.
The evidence of this love shines when we want unbelievers to know Jesus, too. Below are some passages that show us two truths:
- God wants lost people to be saved.
- God wants believers to share the Good News.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Luke 19:10

Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest
Luke 10:2

The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness;
but he is patient with us,
not wishing that anyone should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9

Do all things without complaining and arguing,
that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God
without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation,
among whom you are seen as lights in the world, holding up the word of life,
that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ…
Philippians 2:14-16.

“All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing,
but should raise him up at the last day.“
