You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.
Matthew 24:6 (WEB)
The war in Iran is the latest brutal reminder that we may be living in the end of the Church age. Maybe Jesus is coming soon.
Maybe. But maybe not.
Where should a believer’s thoughts be?
First, remember that Jesus was talking to the disciples about the tribulation and His attention was on Israel.
So often, this passage is used to remind believers to focus on the tasks God has given them, no matter how small or large.

But remember that when Jesus said, “…see that you aren’t troubled…the end is not yet…” he was not predicting the imminent end of the world. Jesus wanted the disciples to be aware, but He did not want them to be distracted from their mission.
Jesus was encouraging His followers to be about His business. And that is what we, as devoted believers, need to be doing, too.
Don’t be afraid or distracted. Every moment we waste fretting over the news is a precious moment taken from glorifying our Father and sharing our faith.
Pray for the people of Israel, and for soldiers in harm’s way that are fighting for human rights. Pray for Iran and other nations where human rights are so egregiously disregarded.
And find your voice for sharing the Light of the world.
Isaiah 52:7
