… lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1 & 2 (WEB)
What captures your thoughts?
Cares, fears, ambition?
Jesus set His full attention on His Father. He endured the rigors before Him because of His undivided heart.
Jesus was God, but He became one of us – in part to experience our suffering and more.
He never sinned.
He was unshakable.
There is a burden in that endurance only Jesus knew.

We have never perfectly overcome temptation.
Jesus chose obedience to God.
We should follow Him.
Jesus is our Captain. The Bible calls Him that.
Watch Him.
If you follow Him, you will see how simple obedience and an undivided heart will make you more like Him.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the Captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
Hebrews 2:10 (KJV)

Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.
