A beggar at the Beautiful Gate. (click)

Acts 3:8 …he entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.
I love this story about the lame beggar who met Jesus, by way of Peter and John.
We wouldn’t have this story if Peter and John were not faithful in their mission. Look what they were doing when they met the lame man.
Acts 3:1 …Peter and John went to the temple to talk with God.
How often do we miss experiences with God because we are distracted by something “else”?
Acts 3:2-3 tells us about the lame man. Click the link for his brief story.
Peter captures his attention. “Look at us.” He wanted the man to know Jesus, but the man obeyed, thinking he would receive money.
Acts 3:4-6 Peter was up front with him. “I don’t have money for you.”
Ultimately, do you think he was disappointed?
Peter had his attention with the next words he spoke. “… But I will give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”
The man had faith. Peter helped him stand. His faith was rewarded, and he thanked God. He didn’t wonder why healing took so long; he was just grateful.
How many people today are missing a relationship with Jesus because He isn’t giving them the material possessions or health that they seek?
Many people focus on what they have or want, but they never find contentment with anything.

Ingratitude is sin. Is that an issue for us as believers?
I hope not. If we know God’s love and mercy, then we are rich beyond measure!
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for everything You have done for me and for the inspiring stories in Your Word, shared by those who sought You, found You, and whose lives honored You.
Go ahead! Praise Him to the top of your lungs!
