You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
1 Thessalonians 1:6 (WEB)
Each day that believers walk along in this anti-God world, holding onto our joy becomes more of a challenge. In fact, just this week I have heard two fellow believers talk about becoming joyless.
Can a Christian’s life be so filled with troubles that they become joyless?
True believers can feel joyless. I know that once clinical depression has been ruled out, which is vital, then I believe that true believers can find Spiritual healing, for despair and oppression.
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12(WEB)

You see, when we are born again, the Holy Spirit lives in us. One of His attributes, which He shares with believers as we grow in grace, is the evidence of a joy-filled life. (Galatians 5:22-23).
We aren’t happy every second of the day. Hardships and trials surely will often come to steal our light-hearted feelings.
But for committed believers, the fruit of the Spirit should always prevail whatever may come.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit.
