Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; the one who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
John 8:12
Today is a great day to be a believer! I know the political climate is negative and the war in the Middle East is always on our minds. The daily struggles never cease either, do they?
But if you have been redeemed then you can gladly add your story to that of the blind man who encountered Jesus at the ancient Pool of Siloam.

This grateful man was never the same again-either physically or spiritually. You can read his whole story in John 9, but I bet the verse below is familiar to you. It’s the beginning of his testimony in a single statement of courage and faith-
“…Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”
John 9:25
Now, I mentioned this is the beginning of his faith testimony. If you read to the end, you’ll see his confession of faith. Jesus talks to him a bit more, and the blind man finally knows who Jesus truly is.
Of course, we can’t go through our days with a euphoric smile on our faces as if everything is just fine. It isn’t. This world is living opposed to God. It is sad and it is hard to watch and to live among, much less dealing with the daily demands of our lives.
But we have every reason to be thankful and live in hope and with peace in our souls.

There is an old hymn by Philipp Bliss that sums it all up. The melody is pretty. The lyrics are stirring. Do you know this?
The whole world was lost in the darkness of sin; The Light of the world is Jesus.
Like sunshine at noonday His glory shone in;
The Light of the world is Jesus.
Come to the Light; ’tis shining for thee.
Sweetly the Light has dawned upon me.
Once I was blind, but now I can see.
The Light of the world is Jesus.1
Why not glorify the Savior today? Radiate His light in the world around you.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;”
Matthew 5:14
