Memory verse for this week – 1 Corinthians 2
Here is an audio link for today’s post.
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16
This is one of those little verses that can get past you if you don’t slow down and drink in God’s Word when you read it.
God’s children have the mind of Christ!
We can think like Jesus thinks because the Holy Spirit helps us. That is how we can learn to live in an unmistakably sanctified way. Remember, to be sanctified means to be set apart from the world. (1 Peter 1:15 & 16)

As you consider this short little verse, doesn’t it hold such deep meaning? It leads you to think of other passages that will help you to walk separately from the world. The new commandments of Jesus are just one example.
Devoted believes know, that if they hold fast to Christ’s commands, then we can be victorious as we allow the Spirit to help us grow in grace.
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:37 – 39
Of course, God’s Ten Commandments are never irrelevant, and are a helpful guide. (Exodus 20)
Although it takes a lifetime to become more like Jesus, believers who surrender to Him in obedience will have the mind of Christ when we are filled with the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23)

We also have the mind of Christ when we obey the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:16-20)
Take time this week to more thoughtfully read 1 Corinthians 2. This letter from the Apostle Paul, teaches believers how to have godly wisdom, discernment, and other qualities that reveal the mind of Christ is in us.
We know that such character qualities don’t come from our human heart. They never could. They are rooted in a committed relationship with our living Hope-Jesus.
Why not choose one or more of these passages this week to add to your selection of memory verses.
I have also listed several additional passages that teach us how to have the mind of Christ.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:5-8

“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:13
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Colossians 3:2
