For the wellspring of life is with you. By means of your light we see light.
Psalm 36:9
Fannie Crosby wrote the old hymn below.
She was blind from infancy.
But Fannie didn’t need to see to perceive the Light that filled her soul. It was Jesus, living in her, shining through the songs she wrote. These lyrics bless us, today.

Jesus, keep me near the cross,
There a precious fountain;
Free to all, a healing stream,
Flows from Calv’ry’s mountain.
Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the Bright and Morning Star
Shed His beams around me.
Near the cross! O lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day
With its shadow o’er me. 1
In the cross, in the cross – Be my glory ever,
Till my ransomed soul shall find – Rest beyond the river.

But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the cross, and I to the world.
