A Light for My Path

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. 

John 1:1 & 2

Have you ever wondered where Jesus and the Holy Spirit were when God created the world?

Well, take an intentional look at our memory verses for this week.

• In the beginning God created…
• And the Spirit of God was hovering
• In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

All three persons of the Trinity were present at creation. We tend to focus on the phrase, “…God created…”. But the Spirit was there, actively creating and giving life to all of God’s creation. And God created the world, through the Son.

The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Job 33:4

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

Colossians 1:16

If you are a believer, it is vital to know the basics about your faith in God. How can you share the Gospel story if you don’t know it?

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

1 Peter 3:15
