Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away.
Matthew 19:13-15
I have a little six-year-old granddaughter, Josephine, aka “Josie”. She is the fourth of my five grands and my only granddaughter. Josie has such a big heart. If she is your friend, then you have a kind and true friend.
Josie is brave, extremely clever, and independent. Josie already has big dreams. She wants to be a veterinarian one day. She is getting a lot of training with her bunny, two cats, chickens, and two puppy dogs.
Josie loves her family, friends, and she loves Jesus.
I can easily place Josie in the story from Matthew 19.

As a matter of fact, Josie would not have waited for an introduction to Jesus. She would have spotted Him and run into His arms as if He were expecting her all along. Jesus’ love and kindness beckon us all.
Jesus would have told Josie that she has so much to offer her world, even at six years old. Her life brings glory to God. She was made in His image.
Jesus can use young children to teach others about simple, childlike faith. There is nothing childish about how little ones contribute to God’s kingdom.
So, be an encourager to the little ones in your life. Don’t dismiss them too quickly. Teach them what you know about the Savior and be willing to see what they can teach you.

They have a pure view of our Savior that many adults have lost as they have battled through this life.
