Here is today’s parable, straight from the heart of Jesus.
The Parable of the Leaven in the Dough. Matthew 13:33
He also used this example: “The Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a woman making bread. She takes a measure of flour and mixes in the yeast until it permeates every part of the dough.”
Matthew 13:33
Before we can understand the full meaning of this parable, we need to know what the Kingdom of Heaven is. We need to understand where it exists.
The Kingdom of Heaven is the dominion of Christ. The heart of every believer is also His dominion. Christs’ dwelling place Is wherever He reigns among His Church and in Heaven.

One day, He will reign over Earth in a physical sense, when He is crowned the final King of Judah. This is the fulfillment of God’s promise to David. (2 Samuel 7:16)
The Kingdom of Judah will never end. It has been besieged under the oppression of wicked kings and armies. The people of Judah have rebelled against their Lord. But God’s promises are always sure.
One of the elders said to me,
“Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome:
he who opens the book and its seven seals.”
Revelation 5:5

So how is God’s Kingdom compared to the parable of the leavened bread?
After a person is born again, God’s grace grows from within them. As each believer matures, our lives become richer and more effective.
As our relationship with God deepens, the Kingdom of God will naturally grow, too. That is because we use our spiritual gifts and God’s love to share the Gospel.
God’s kingdom has been abused and maligned. It has been persecuted and rejected. But it has never been stamped out.
What’s more, it has grown in places around the world where it has defied human understanding. Just think of the persecuted church in Africa and China. Church growth in those oppressed places has outpaced its growth in the free world.

Christ’s Spiritual kingdom in the hearts of believers today.
“… neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, God’s Kingdom is within you.”
Luke 17:21
Christ’s physical kingdom will exist when He comes to dwell with us on earth.
“The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”
Revelation 11:15

Our mission on this Earth is to let the leaven of the Gospel, which saved us, radiate to those on the outside. In that way we will bring glory and honor to our Lord.
But we Christians have no veil over our faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him.
2 Corinthians 3:18
