A parable, straight from the heart of Jesus.
The Parable of the Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant – Luke 12:35-48
“Be ready! Be dressed for service and have your lamps shining. Be like servants who are waiting for their master to come home…”
Luke 12:35-36
Stop and think.
Is Jesus our servant? (Matthew 20:28)
Jesus was God’s faithful Servant while He walked on Earth. (Mark 10:45)
Jesus was the suffering Servant. (Isaiah 53)
Jesus was the Servant Who came as a man to heal and restore crushed lives. (Luke 4:18-19)
Jesus will be a Servant again. (Revelation 19:7-10)
When all believers are greeted by our Savior at the rapture, we will stand at the Bema-the judgement seat of Christ. There, we will not be judged for our sin. Rather, we will be judged for wasted time after we are born-again.

Our failure to serve others and share the Gospel, are examples of that failure. Every moment of service that we disregard will be accounted for. (Romans 14:12) And the Holiness of God will burn away all of that dross. (1 Corinthians 3:10-15)
Then we will be welcomed to the wedding supper of the Lamb. There, we will be seated around His table and, once more Jesus will take the role as a servant. Jesus will serve every believer at that table. (Revelation 19:9)
Jesus will serve the wedding feast to you and to me.
“…The master will dress himself to serve and tell the servants to sit at the table. Then the master will serve them…”
Luke 12:37

The parable for today is a reminder that we must be about our Father’s business. As the sons and daughters of God, we must be a servant to the people in our world. Not just those that we know, but everyone that God puts in our path.
Don’t be persuaded to procrastinate. Be actively aware of the Holy Spirit’s direction in your life.
Jesus could call us home at any time, whether by death or by the Rapture.
If Jesus were to come today, would He find your lamp brightly shining? Or would you be caught off-guard? Would you be walking with the world? Or would you be serving Jesus?
“Be ready! Be dressed for service and have your lamps shining. Be like servants who are waiting for their master to come home from a wedding party. The master comes and knocks. The servants immediately open the door for him. Those servants will be blessed when their master comes home, because he sees that his servants are ready and waiting for him. I tell you the truth. The master will dress himself to serve and tell the servants to sit at the table. Then the master will serve them. Those servants might have to wait until midnight or later for their master. But they will be happy when he comes in and finds them still waiting. “Remember this: If the owner of the house knew what time a thief was coming, then the owner would not allow the thief to enter his house. So you also must be ready! The Son of Man will come at a time when you don’t expect him!”
Luke 12:35-48
